We’re not saying that you can really taste food with your ears, but they do have a function in transmitting taste signals to your brain.

There is a division of nerves called the chorda tympani that just happens to run throughout the middle ear as it connects the undergo buds on the face of the tongue to the brain.

Due to this, if somewhat happens to our ear it can potentially affect your capability to recognize flavor. “Occasionally ear surgery have an effect on your taste from a difficulty; or sometimes, a disease in your ear can affect taste”

To our valued patients,

Due to the increasing concern around the globe due to the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, we want to assure you that our Jervis Bay Hearing Centre remains open as a front-line medical service.  In these difficult times we are ready to assist you with any of your hearing health needs.  From complete hearing assessments and expert advice through to maintenance, batteries, device tuning, our friendly team is standing by to help
you in any way we can.

As hearing health professionals, we maintain a continued vigilance to hygiene and our clinic rooms are fully sanitized before and after your appointment.  Your health and well-being is paramount and be assured we have the safety of our patients and our team members as top priority.  All our staff are across the Covid-19 infection control training certified by the Australian Government | Department of Health, March 2020.

Additionally, we can offer private car parking (no public access), a rural location, no skin to skin contact, you can avoid shopping centres, large populations and metro areas. Further measures, as recommended by the Australian Government and health authorities, regarding both close contact in healthcare practices and maintaining appropriate distances between customers and team members where appropriate and practical are followed at all times for your safety.

However, out of respect for our team and other patients, we ask that if you are experiencing fever or cold or flu-like symptoms, you do not come into any Jervis Bay Hearing Centre.
